Alfereces Pick Up 5-1 Win Against Aguada
The Mayaguez Alfereces got a marvelous performance from pitcher Polifemo Ravé. The right-hander kept the Aguada offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 5-1 Mayaguez victory at Parquecito de Aguada. Ravé went the distance for Mayaguez. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. Mayaguez is now 34-48, while Aguada is 24-60.

Mayaguez center fielder Dennis Pitchford contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 69th hit of the season and put the Alfereces ahead, 2-0.

"Polifemo is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Mayaguez manager Julián Ángeles.
