Watson, Jayuya Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
Parquecito de Morovis hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
The Jayuya Picachos received a sterling performance from starting pitcher Orren Watson, allowing them to shoot down the Morovis Excepciones, 2-1. Jayuya is 8th in the Liga José Padilla División Eugenio Ortiz with a record of 39-46.
The Picachos liked what they saw from Watson. The 22-year- old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Excepciones to 1 run on 4 hits over 8 innings, and striking out 5.
"That was a really good outing by Orren," said Jayuya manager Harry Koons.
