Parquecito de Salinas hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.

In a tight game between the Salinas Olimpicos and the Yabucoa Pastelillos, pitcher Marco Pomares was terrific on the mound. The Salinas left-hander helped his team to the 2-1 win. The Olimpicos now have a mark of 34-53.

Martin Batstone, the Salinas center fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 2-1, Olimpicos. For the game, Batstone was 1-4.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Pomares told the Salinas Observer.
