The Penuelas Idiofonos reigned over the Lajas Fobianos in damp conditions.

The Penuelas Idiofonos thumped the Lajas Fobianos, 9-2, at El Escombrón. Ángel Ortega was a big reason his team got the win. Ortega went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 4 times and driving in 3. Héctor Vázquez picked up the win, lifting his record to 12-3 on the season. He struck out 2 and walked 4 in 7.1 innings, while yielding 2 runs.

Penuelas used a well-timed hit by Eumeo Lara to capture the win. The third baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Idiofonos ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Lara said. "We did a good job of that today."
