The Luquillo Comecocos topped the Gurabo Escaleras, 3-1, in Liga José Padilla action at Parquecito de Gurabo. The standout performance belonged to Luquillo pitcher and Sabana de la Mar, Dominican Republic, native Pedro Martínez. Callum Dunn earned the save, his 7th. The Comecocos improved to 48-38.

The win was a team effort for Luquillo. Right Fielder Clemente Salinas was among the key contributors. In the top of the fifth, he put his team in front, 1-0, when he hit a run-scoring single.

"Pedro was able to execute his pitches," said Luquillo manager George Heubel. "Simple as that."
