Maravillosos Get Past Guayanilla, 3-2

Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Guayanilla Tormentas take on the Cabo Rojo Maravillosos.
Cabo Rojo Maravillosos starter Sergio Rojas turned in a sterling performance against the Guayanilla Tormentas, leading his team to a slim, 3-2 win in 10 innings. Rojas picked up the win for Cabo Rojo, going 9 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 10-10.
Luis Zúñiga came through with a big-time hit for Cabo Rojo. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Guayanilla manager Gerardo Francisco said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
With the victory, the Maravillosos record stands at 51-38.
