Barr Helps Alevines Defeat Alfereces, 13-9
The Aguadilla Alevines beat the Mayaguez Alfereces in a game featuring much hitting but not much pitching. The final score was 13-9, Alevines. One of the hitting stars was designated hitter Matthew Barr. Barr went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Aguadilla reliever Matthew Coxall picked up the win. Daniel Trillo took the loss for Mayaguez. Aguadilla, at 46-44, sits in 6th place in the Liga Mariana Bracetti División Manuel Corchado y Juarbe.

In the top of the eighth, the Alevines grabbed the lead when Barr hit his 1st home run of the season. The grand slam home run off Daniel Trillo made it 13-9, Aguadilla.

"Guys always talk about winning games because of the 'little things,'" Barr told the Aguadilla Gazette. "Call me old fashioned, but I think baseball is about the big things -- like scoring more runs."
