Hidalgos Lose By a Run at Penuelas
Starting pitcher Hubert Mahoney gave the Penuelas Idiofonos a rock-solid effort. The Brockville, Canada native helped his team defeat the Ponce Hidalgos, 3-2, at Parquecito de Peñuelas. Mahoney, now 4-15, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 1, walking 6, and allowing 2 runs. The save was credited to Jérôme Rodrigues, his 1st.

Penuelas third baseman Pjerin Cobaj helped the Idiofonos go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Cobaj hit a run-scoring single off Ponce pitcher Gael Morley.

After the game, Penuelas manager Ramón Ortega applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.

The Idiofonos win now puts them at 38-52.
