Ciales and Adjuntas put this game in the books despite some rain.
The Ciales Guapetones defeated the Adjuntas Beatos, 4-1, in Liga José Padilla action at Parquecito de Adjuntas. Ciales pitcher Palamedes González had a standout performance. González yielded 1 run over 8.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 14-5.
The Beatos had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Guapetones going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the slick-fielding center fielder Terushi Koizumi came to the plate. Koizumi hit a run-scoring triple on a first pitch sinker from Adjuntas hurler Alarico Sabouga. It was Koizumi's 1st triple of the year.
"We'll kick back a while," said González, "and then get ready for the next one."
With the win, the Guapetones sit at 57-33.
