The game between Fajardo and Luquillo is in the books, despite a little rain.
The Fajardo Camorristas knocked off the Luquillo Comecocos, 6-2, in Liga José Padilla action at Parquecito de Fajardo. Fajardo pitcher and Veracruz, Mexico, native Miguel Díaz had an outstanding performance. In 9 innings, Díaz surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 4. He allowed 2 runs.
Luis Piña had a big 2-run home run for the Camorristas in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Fajardo leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a curveball from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Pedro Martínez and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Camorristas on top, 4-1.
"Like I've always said, I'm the straw that stirs the drink," Piña said (again).
The 6th-place Camorristas go to 47-43.
