Aprendices Thwart Banqueros, 3-1

Though the conditions were not ideal, the Guayama Aprendices and Villalba Banqueros came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
In a tight game between the Guayama Aprendices and the Villalba Banqueros, pitcher Lyndon Jones was terrific on the mound. The Guayama right-hander helped his team to the 3-1 win. With the win, the Aprendices have a record of 47-45.
Guayama used the timely hitting of Claudio Abeja to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Aprendices on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I'm happy we won," said Jones. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
