Melchor Dimas was superb against Canovanas. The right-hander, who is tied for 7th in the LJP with a 1.78 ERA, had a sinker that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Careyes victory. The score was 4-2. Culebra is now 45-48.
Dimas picked up the win. He's now 13-7, after putting the Canovanas offense in the deep freeze. Over 9 innings, he allowed no earned runs on 2 hits.
"Melchor was pretty good at keeping their guys off-balance," said Culebra manager Mateo Pereira.
