Luis Pertuz pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Canovanas Criptidos, despite Pertuz's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Culebra Careyes at Parquecito de Canóvanas. The Careyes improved to 46-48.

Culebra won the game in part because of Sancho Monge. The right fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Careyes ahead, 3-2. For the game, Monge had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"That's what these guys do," said Careyes manager Mateo Pereira. "They battle, they fight."
