López Brings A-Game, Zumbadorcitos Beat Arrecostaos
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Vieques Zumbadorcitos and the Trujillo Alto Arrecostaos, 22-year old right-handed pitcher José López proved to be the difference. The Vieques right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Zumbadorcitos win. The Zumbadorcitos are now 43-51, while the Arrecostaos fall to 35-59.
López's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 5 strikeouts in 9 innings while allowing 6 hits. López goes to 11-11 on the year with 136 strikeouts.
"This was a tough loss," said Trujillo Alto manager Álvaro Ortega. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
