Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Salinas Olimpicos and the Arroyo Conmutadores. Salinas won it, 2-1, in 11 innings. Salinas starter Marco Pomares was in command. The Olimpicos now have a record of 38-57.

The decisive moment came in the bottom of the 11th for Salinas. That's when Héctor Garza hit a run-scoring double off 21-year old left-handed pitcher Jaime Olivares to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

Said Garza: "It's just one win, but it feels like more when you outlast a tough opponent."
