Valencia third baseman Esteban Ibarra helped the Industriales go up, 2-1, in the top of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Ibarra hit a run-scoring single off Maracaibo pitcher Práxedes Vega.

"There's a lot in this game you can't control. Just take what the game gives you. I was just doing my best to help the team win," Máez told the Valencia Gazette.
