Abdías González had a good game, but he could not keep the Barinas Viajeros from falling, 10-4, to the Maracay Jardineros at Jardines de Maracay. The Barinas left fielder went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs in the loss. Reginaldo Alonso earned the win. Euan Sharp, who is tied for 10th in the LO in complete games with 6, took the loss for Barinas. The third-place Jardineros bumped their record to 35-31.

Jesús Franco, who is a six-time Acutísimo (LBPV) winner, aided the Maracay cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop was 1-5, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"Good win for us," said Franco. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."
