The Maracaibo Independientes went down to defeat to Pero Sogliano and his Barinas teammates. The final score was 4-2, in favor of the Viajeros. The Viajeros saw their win-loss record go to 37-40. At the same time, the Independientes fell to 38-38.

Barinas used the timely hitting of Natanael Castro to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Viajeros on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Castro.
