Crepusculares Top Caballeros to Even Record
|
Starting pitcher Mateus Balieiro had a solid game. He was a big reason the Barquisimeto Crepusculares throttled the Merida Caballeros, 7-1. The winning pitcher was Balieiro, now 7-3. He tossed 9 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 2. The Caballeros have now dropped 5 straight.
The Crepusculares got a big hit from shortstop Atanasio Eguía. Facing Merida pitcher Esteban Rivera in the top of the fifth, Eguía pounded a 2-run double to left. His 9th double of the season put the Crepusculares ahead, 5-0.
"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Barquisimeto manager Ernesto Camarillo.
