Barquisimeto pitcher Mateus Balieiro did his part in helping his team defeat the Valencia Industriales, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Balieiro yielded 2 runs over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 11 hits, walked 0, and struck out 2. His record improves to 14-5. Earning his 1st save of the year was Raúl Montes.
The Crepusculares got a big at-bat from third baseman Ladislao Díaz. For the game, Díaz went 1 for 4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 8th triple of the season gave Barquisimeto a 3-2 lead.
