Soggy conditions did not keep Venezia and Ljubljana from playing their scheduled game.

The Venezia Mascherati beat the Ljubljana Zmaji, 4-3. Venezia pitcher and Leghorn, Italy, native Aymeric Arcimboldo led the way. The second-place Mascherati improved to 38-37.

Gaetan Gardini, who is tied for 9th in the OLK in runs scored with 40, had a direct impact on the outcome. Gardini contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Venezia up, 3-2.

"We'll put this win in the can," said Arcimboldo, "and go after the next one."
