In a tightly-contested game between the Munich Schaeffler and the Bolzano Dolomiti, pitcher Erasmus Flemming was outstanding. The Munich right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the WLK in quality starts with 15, propelled his team's 2-1 win. Munich is now 42-53.
The Schaeffler got a clutch hit from right fielder Jens Wilder. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Schaeffler.
During his postgame press conference, Schaeffler manager Hernán Gómez told reporters that he expected a tight game from the get-go. "This had the potential to go down to the wire, and it certainly didn't disappoint," he said, later quipping, "it might've been a little less nerve-racking if I had been watching the game from my couch!"
