The Merida Caballeros moved to within one game of the Campeonato Nacional de Venezuela, downing the visiting Maracaibo Independientes at Caballeros Ballpark by a score of 6-3. Caballeros right-hander Shaun McKinnon had a strong outing in which he threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Caballeros a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Campeonato de las Ligas.
