Las Tunas Wins Campeonato de las Ligas
After eliminating the Trinidad Tabacaleros 3-1 in the Campeonato de las Ligas at Estadio de los Escultores, the victorious Las Tunas Escultores will now move on to the next round: the Campeonato Nacional de Cuba.

Las Tunas beat Trinidad 4-1 in the series. The MVP trophy was awarded to Escultores first baseman Lino Rosario, who knocked in 2 runs, hit .429 and scored 3 times.

"The guys were all chanting 'M-V-P' when I went into the clubhouse," Rosario said later, with a smile. "It was kind of embarrassing but it feels great to be here."

The Las Tunas Escultores don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the San Antonio de los Banos Comediantes - Artemisa Rojos series. San Antonio de los Banos leads the series 3 games to 2. The Campeonato Nacional de Cuba schedule will be announced after the Campeonato de las Ligas finishes.
