Vittorio Gambachini kept the Stuttgart Vergaser hitters from doing much damage at Vergaser-Stadion.

Stuttgart could only muster 4 hits and draw 1 walk against the right-handed Gambachini, who controlled them throughout the game. Bolzano won the contest, 6-0. Gambachini added 8 strikeouts in his complete-game effort.

"I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Gambachini told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time."
