Cabo Rojo Takes Serie Interliga in Deciding Game
|
In what will no doubt go down as a classic Liga Veraniega de Principiantes series for both clubs, the Cabo Rojo Maravillosos prevailed over the Las Marias Agriados in the Serie Interliga today.
With the ups and downs of the series thrilling fans on both sides, Cabo Rojo won the final game by a score of 11-6 and took the series 2-1.
"In the end, it's our fans who went home happy, but a series like this is good for all fans and for everyone in baseball," said Cabo Rojo starting pitcher Tareef bin Mustafa, who earned series MVP honors.
bin Mustafa posted a 0.00 ERA on the series, throwing 9 innings and posting a 1-0 record.
The Cabo Rojo Maravillosos will play against the Manati Hoplitas in the next round. Manati won their series against the Isabela Jerezanos 2 games to 0. The Campeonato de las Ligas schedule will be announced after the Serie Interliga finishes.
