Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Munich Schaeffler got the win.

Munich left fielder Eustace Brown helped his team beat the Bolzano Dolomiti, 4-2. Brown, who is tied for 5th in the WLK in home runs with 15, went 1 for 3 for the Schaeffler. Nicolas Pedersen, the winner, improved to 17-12. He held the Dolomiti to 2 runs on 2 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Severin Roehm was credited with the save for Munich, his 1st of the season.

The Schaeffler got a lift from shortstop Alphonse Zeigler, who in the bottom of the sixth stroked a 1-1 slider to center for a run-scoring single. It was his 116th hit of the season and put the Schaeffler ahead, 4-2.

Zeigler called the win a testament to his team's "grit."

Munich, now 53-67, holds down 6th place in the Allgemeine Teilung.
