The outcome was not decided until the very end at Vergaser-Stadion.

The Bolzano Dolomiti could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Vittorio Gambachini into a win. Instead, the Stuttgart Vergaser prevailed, 4-3, in 10 innings. Gambachini threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball. Torsten Ammann came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3 innings. His record now stands at 4-2.

The Vergaser got a clutch hit from left fielder Wilfrid Wolf. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Vergaser.

"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Stuttgart manager Tarquino Santa Cruz.
