|
Fukushima pitcher Kuranosuke Hori had a large part in his team beating the Sabae Megane-ten, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Hori, now 14-1, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 1, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. The Kamome improved to 32-27.
Marco Antonio Betancurt, who is tied for 4th in the NL with a .422 on-base percentage, had a direct impact on the outcome. Betancurt contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put Fukushima up, 3-0.
"Every loss hurts," said Sabae manager Jim Foran. "But this was a tough one."
