Starting pitcher Bryan Robinson gave the Maturin Petroleros a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Puerto La Cruz Timoneles, 3-2, at Campo de los Petroleros. Juan Navarro closed it out for Maturin, earning his 1st save. The first-place Petroleros hiked their record to 62-38.
Robinson contributed in the bottom of the fourth. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he grounded out, driving in 1 run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Maturin get the win.
"Bryan kept his poise and got the job done," said Maturin manager Calixto Morales. "He was outstanding."
