Industriales Pin 3-2 Loss on Maracaibo
|
Práxedes Vega pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Maracaibo Independientes, despite Vega's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Valencia Industriales at Campo de Valencia. Declan Darcy earned the save for Valencia, his 6th. At 51-51, the Industriales claim 5th place in the Liga Oeste.
Shortstop Álvaro Pérez made an impact for Valencia, when he swatted a run-scoring triple off Práxedes Vega in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Pérez went 3-4 with 2 triples.
Pérez said his team "played with determination."
