Coro pitcher Fernando Mascorro did his part in helping his team beat the Barinas Viajeros, 2-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Mascorro, now 8-10, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 1 run.

Coro used a well-timed hit by Hormisdas Arce to capture the win. The second baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Bizantinos ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"We needed two runs to win," said Bizantinos manager Pablo Moreno, "and that's what we got."

The Bizantinos sit in 4th place in the Liga Oeste with a record of 54-54.
