It might have been a rain-shorted game, but Katanakaji fans didn't seem to mind as long as their team got the win.
Seki starter Yasugi Shiraki kept the Nagasaki hitters in check, while his team cruised to a win, 9-1. Seki has a record of 52-45, placing them second in the Southern League.
Seki used a well-timed hit by Ryo Hirayama to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Katanakaji ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Yasugi had a little bit of everything going," said Katanakaji manager Darío Mora. "Really sharp performance."
