Medardo Crosby, who is tied for 7th in the LE in innings pitched with 236.0, had a strong outing for the Angostura Amargados against the Caracas Sultanes at Estadio de Angostura. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 7-1 win. Angostura is now 64-56, Caracas 49-71.

The Amargados got an important contribution from second baseman Nicky Gordon, who in the bottom of the third knocked a 1-1 sinker to left for a run-scoring triple. It was his 16th triple of the season and put the Amargados ahead, 2-0.

"When there are games to be won, you win them," said Angostura manager Stephen Macdonald.
