Wet weather did not postpone the Angostura-Puerto La Cruz ballgame.
The Angostura Amargados defeated the Puerto La Cruz Timoneles, 4-1, in Liga Este action at Estadio de Angostura. Angostura pitcher Enrique Ortiz had a standout performance. Ortiz yielded 1 run over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 1. His record improves to 4-6.
The fans who filled the stands at Estadio de Angostura to watch the Liga Este action seemed to enjoy the game.
"Winning is always a team effort," Ortiz said after the game.
The first-place Amargados bumped their record to 55-47.
