The rain came, as predicted, but the Las Tunas Escultores and Holguin Pericos were able to complete their ballgame.
Héctor Pérez pitched a gem to lead Las Tunas to victory over the Holguin Pericos, 5-1. With this game in the books, Las Tunas is 64-64, Holguin 69-61.
Las Tunas took the lead, 3-1, on José Morales's 17th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Morales hit in the bottom of the seventh, made Holguin pitcher Scannell Taylor wince.
Las Tunas manager José Lara commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
