Pinar del Rio Beats San Antonio de los Banos, 3-1

Gedeón Rubio, who finished 5th in the TOCC in wins with 15 in 1905, had a strong outing for the Pinar del Rio Guajiros against the San Antonio de los Banos Comediantes at El Campo de los Guajiros. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-1 win. By defeating San Antonio de los Banos, the third-place Guajiros improved to 44-88.
Pinar del Rio took advantage of an error in the bottom of the seventh inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Daniel Ruvalcaba hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Guajiros in front, 3-1.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Pinar del Rio manager José Martín said.
