Derry Moves on to Pennant Championship Series
The Derry Spuds are bound for the Pennant Championship Series.

A 4-3 win over the Bangor River Hogs at The Patch ended the Division Series, 4-1.

"We're not trying to get ahead of ourselves, but it's hard not to get pumped up and excited and think about how this season could end," said Ronaldo Ochoa. "This could be the biggest celebration Derry has ever seen if we can win the Championship of New England."

The state of the Baseball League of New England championship remains in doubt, but the Spuds certainly appear to be strong contenders.

Ochoa was named MVP of the Division Series after he posted a .619 batting average, while adding 0 home runs, driving in 4 RBI and scoring 4 runs.

The Derry Spuds don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Waterville Elms - Bennington Melodeons series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Pennant Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
