Road Win Lifts Odessa to 2-1 Lead in PCS
Efraín Castro pitched a gem to help the Odessa Cowhands escape with a tight, 2-1 victory over the San Marcos Cadavers in a low-scoring Pennant Championship Series contest. The right-handed Castro threw 9.0 innings of 4-hit ball in the win, just enough for the Cowhands on a day when their offense dried up. Odessa now leads the best-of-7 series 2-1.

Castro was in the zone all game. He frustrated San Marcos hitters while giving the Cowhands 9 innings of quality work. Castro threw 116 pitches, allowing 4 hits and getting 6 punchouts.

Castro told a Odessa Times reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Cadavers Park in San Marcos.
