Pininferino Blasts Vergaser, Dolomiti Take Game 3, 6-5
The Bolzano Dolomiti moved to within one game of the Europaeischer Meisterschaft, downing the visiting Stuttgart Vergaser at Stadio degli Dolomiti by a score of 6-5. Dolomiti left fielder Pero Pininferino did some major damage. He was 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win gives the Dolomiti a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Halbfinalen.

Gianni Boncompagni, the Bolzano first baseman, contributed a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first inning to make the score 3-0, Dolomiti. For the game, Boncompagni went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"Every team in baseball loses," Vergaser manager Tarquino Santa Cruz said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Stadio degli Dolomiti in Bolzano.
