Puerto La Cruz Breaks Through for First Win in Campeonato de las Ligas; Now Trails 2-1
The Puerto La Cruz Timoneles have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Angostura Amargados, winning, 6-5, at Estadio de Puerto La Cruz. Timoneles second baseman José Lebrón went 4 for 5 with 4 singles. The win cuts the deficit facing the Timoneles to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Campeonato de las Ligas.

Juan Gutiérrez had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fourth for Puerto La Cruz. With the bases loaded and the Timoneles leading 4-3, he hit a sacrifice fly.

"I like our moxie," said Timoneles manager Egidio Martínez.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Estadio de Puerto La Cruz in Puerto la Cruz.
