Road Win Lifts Coro to 2-1 Lead in CLL
When the stakes were high, José Shaefer raised his game to match.

The right-handed Shaefer turned in a stellar performance in Game 3 of the Campeonato de las Ligas, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the Coro Bizantinos to victory. He allowed 7 hits and struck out 1. The win gave Coro a 2-1 lead over the Barquisimeto Crepusculares in the best-of-7 series.

Coro used the timely hitting of Francis Olague to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bizantinos on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.

"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Bizantinos," said Olague.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Barquisimeto Stadium in Barquisimeto.
