The Coro Bizantinos moved to within one game of the Campeonato Nacional de Venezuela, downing the Barquisimeto Crepusculares on the road at Barquisimeto Stadium by a score of 9-5. Bizantinos second baseman Hormisdas Arce went 3-5 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win gives the Bizantinos a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-7 Campeonato de las Ligas.

A key moment came with two out in the top of the third. That's when Arce hit a fastball from Gustavo Cano for a 2-run double, putting Coro up, 2-0.

"We're one game closer to our goal," Coro manager Pablo Moreno said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."
