The Louisville Colonels locked up a win at Eclipse Park II, knocking off the Cincinnati Reds, 5-3. On the mound for Louisville was right-hander Carl Lundgren. He played a major role in the triumph. Lundgren yielded 3 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 7-2. Louisville raised its record to 38-35 with the win.
George Sisler had a big 3-run home run for the Colonels in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Louisville leading 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a curveball from Brendan McDowell, who is tied for 6th in the WL in innings pitched with 140.1, and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Colonels on top, 5-1.
"My job is to go out and execute," said Lundgren.
