Amarillo Horizons starter Reehan Davis pitched well against the Abilene Preachers at Horizons Park, leading his team to a win, 5-2. Medardo Salas was credited with the save for Amarillo, his 1st of the season. Losses have been few and far between for the Preachers, now 11-3.

Tied up with the Preachers in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Horizons got a boost from left fielder Silverio Garzón. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Garzón saw a 0-2 cutter from Bienvenido Martínez and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Amarillo on top, 2-1.

Davis said afterward that "winning, obviously, is the main objective."
