The Las Tunas Escultores electrified the home crowd with a walk-off win.
Constancio Hernández, who finished 3rd in the TORI in strikeouts with 144 in 1913, played a key role in a gritty 2-1 Las Tunas Escultores win against the Santiago de Cuba Soneros. Hernández yielded 1 run over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 2-0.
Seamus Armstrong was the walk-off hero for Las Tunas. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Escultores shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
