Cienfuegos Upended by Pinar del Rio, 5-1

Hernán Maisonet was a major factor in the 5-1 Pinar del Rio win over Cienfuegos. The Guajiros center fielder went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Gedeón Rubio earned the win to go to 2-2. He allowed 1 run on 12 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts in 8 innings of work. The Guajiros are off to a tough start, getting just their 5th win in 14 games.
Pinar del Rio grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Maisonet hit a 2-run home run off Saturnín Juárez. His 1st home run of the season put the Guajiros out in front, 3-1.
