Alacranes Topple Leones, 8-4

Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Habana Leones take on the Mayabeque Alacranes.
The Mayabeque Alacranes topped the Habana Leones, 8-4, in Torneo Occidental action at Parque de los Leones. The standout performance belonged to Mayabeque pitcher and Bayamón, Puerto Rico, native Adelio Rojas. In 5.1 innings, Rojas surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Santiago Ramírez locked down his 1st save.
In the top of the third inning of a 2-2 tie, Mayabeque shortstop Javier Barrera reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put Mayabeque on top, 3-2.
Barrera told the Mayabeque Herald: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
The loss makes Habana 34-24.
