Gallegos Impressive in 6-1 Cienfuegos Triumph
|
The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Cienfuegos fans at Estadio de los Elefantes.
The Nueva Gerona Marmoleros had to reckon with Cienfuegos Elefantes hurler Alberto Gallegos. Gallegos, who is tied for 10th in the TOCC in complete games with 7, overwhelmed the opposition in the 6-1 Elefantes triumph. With the win, Cienfuegos pushed its record to 30-27.
Gallegos was effective against the Marmoleros, seldom allowing a hard-hit ball. The right-hander limited Nueva Gerona to just 1 run on 2 hits over 9 innings.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Cienfuegos skipper Eduardo Galarza.
