The inspired effort of Las Tunas left fielder Orlando Dávila was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-5, to the Holguin Pericos. Dávila was 2-4 with 2 triples and a walk. He drove in 4 runs. The Pericos improved their record to 18-14 with the win over Las Tunas.

One big at-bat came with the bases empty in the bottom of the seventh inning. Sebastián Fermín, who finished 5th in the TORI in OPS with .731 in 1907, hit a triple off Las Tunas pitcher Natán Rivera. The Pericos went on to win the game.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Fermín.
